Jose R. Torres Jr. aka DJ Phatman, was born and raised in Chicago and began his affair with music in 1983, at the ripe age of 13. He embraced the sounds of his parent’s priceless record collection. His mother who loved to listen to the soulful music sounds of Motown, R&B, Funk and Jazz, while his father listened to instrumental sound like the Cuatro. Both Phatman Parents loved the rhythmic percussion sounds of Salsa, Merengue & Plena music from their beloved land Puerto Rico.
When Dj Phatman is on the decks he likes to Educate by sharing his influences and Passionate style of his musical natural rhythm creativity from his parents Puerto Rican Culture and a wide range style of house music are the roots of the music he plays to move the crowds. His commitment to the craft, as well as his dedication and support to the House Music Culture, has made him a true artist. Now in 2019, his focus will be toward music production by making his sounds one of global proportion.
