Hailing from the house music mecca of Chicago, RoseRed was drawn to music from a very young age. Swayed by a variety of sounds that included latin music, jazz, disco, R&B, gospel , and pop it is no surprise that when she was first exposed to house music as a teen she fell in love. Infected by the funky jazzy rhythms and drivin jacking beats, she took every opportunity to see her favorite DJ’s and producers perform. Experiencing the energy on the dancefloor and the uplifting spirit of the house community left a lasting impression. Soon, it was not enough to solely experience it from the dancefloor and her need to feel satiated led her behind the decks. Under the clef of DJ RoseRed, she slowly began growing her music collection, developing her style and honing her skills until she landed her first residency at the age of 19.
Since then, she has played at various clubs, parties, and events in the Chicago area. The amazing beats of DJ’s and producers like Lego, Derrick Carter, Paul Johnson, DJ Sneak, Cajmere, & Collette in the early years and more recently heavy hitters such as Demarkus Lewis, Tommy Largo, Doc Link, Arturo Garces, Johnny Fiasco, and the Corduroy Mavericks have kept her inspired and helped her passion and drive for house music grow exponentially. Her sets have gained the attention of international DJ’s and producers alike.
